1. General Provisions.
1.1. The Club shall be called Maidenhead Archers, hereinafter referred to as the Club. 1.2. The property of the Club shall be vested in the elected Chairman and Officers of the Club. 1.3. The objects of the Club shall be the promotion and encouragement of Archery in all its forms, other than Bow Hunting. 1.4. The Shooting Regulations as prescribed in the G.N.A.S. Rules of Shooting shall be accepted as governing the relevant branches of the Sport of Archery practised by the Club and its members. 1.5. Nothing will be included in this constitution that conflicts with that of the G.N.A.S. 1.6. The postal address of the Club shall be that of the Secretary. 1.7. The Constitution of the Club shall not be altered or amended except at the Annual General Meeting or at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Club. Members wishing to move a proposition designed to alter or amend the Constitution shall submit such proposition to the Secretary twenty eight days before the General Meeting at which such proposition is to be considered. Notice of such proposition which is intended to move shall be sent to all members entitled to receive notice of such a meeting fourteen days before said meeting.
2. Management.
2.1. The management of the Club's affairs shall be entrusted to the Club's Committee. 2.2. The Club Committee shall consist of :- Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Records Officer and three committee members. Four of the above constitute a quorum. 2.3. Committee members shall be appointed by Club members at the Annual General Meeting. 2.4. At meetings of the Club Committee the Chairman, if it is necessary, is entitled to an additional casting vote. 2.5. The Club Committee may appoint sub-Committees and may delegate to such committees powers within defined limits.
3. Membership.
3.1. There shall be the following Classes of Members:- i) Senior Members ii) Junior Members iii) Honorary Members iv) Associate Members v) Visiting Members 3.2. Any person interested in Archery, having attained the age of 18, may apply for admittance as a Senior Member, or under that age as a Junior Member. Young people under the age of 16 may be accepted at the discretion of the Committee if they are children of shooting members or vouched for by a shooting member. Such young persons ma only shoot when accompanied by a responsible adult. 3.3. Any person whom the Club may wish to honour for distinguished service to Club may be elected at a General Meeting of the Club as an Honorary Member for life or for a specified period of time. 3.4. Associate Members shall normally by practising archers who are members of, and owe their allegiance to, another Club, through which pay their affiliation fees to county, regional and national societies or associations. They may share the ground and facilities with full members but shall not hold voting rights, exercise any control over the running of the Club, nor compete for the Club's trophies, although they may shoot at Club Competitions alongside full members. 3.5. Visiting Members must be a registered G.N.A.S. member for the current year, and will be invited to shoot on payment of am agreed shooting fee. 3.6. All members shall accept the jurisdiction of the Club and shall conform to such conditions, shooting rules and regulations as may be determined form time to time. 3.7. If any member should be guilty of conduct which makes it undesirable that he/she should remain a member of the Club, the committee may, after affording a reasonable opportunity of a hearing, expel him/her from the Club without being called upon to explain the reason to anyone but the member concerned, unless said member is a junior under the age of 16, when adult can be requested to be present.
4. Subscriptions.
4.1. All members as defined in Clause 3.1., other than Honorary Members, shall pay an annual subscription to the Club at rates to be determined from time to time by members in General Meeting. All members must, in addition pay the appropriate fees to the B.A.A., S.C.A.S. and G.N.A.S. 4.2. All subscriptions shall become due on 1st October. 4.3. A member who has not paid his/her subscription by 31st October in any one year shall cease to be a member of the Club, unless the Club Committee consider there are extenuating circumstances.
5. Auditors.
5.1. An auditor shall be appointed annually by members in General Meeting.
6. Finance.
6.1. The club shall cause to be prepared and shall present at the Annual General Meeting a Balance Sheet showing the financial position of the Club at the A.G.M., together with an Income Expenditure Account for the twelve months ending 31st August. 6.2. A copy of the Balance Sheet and Income and Expenditure Account, duly certified by the Auditor, shall be sent with the notice convening the Annual General Meeting to each Club Member. 6.3. A account shall be maintained in the name of the Club. All cheques and order withdrawing monies from the account shall be signed by the Treasurer and an officer of the Club. 6.4. In the event of dissolution of the Club the assets shall be disposed of as directed by the General Meeting approving the dissolution.
7. General Meetings.
7.1. The Annual General Meeting shall be held before the end of October at a place to be determined by the Club Committee. Not less than 14 clear days notice of such Meetings shall be sent to each Club Member.
8. Extraordinary General Meetings.
8.1. The Club Committee, or at the request of three or more Club Members, shall call an Extraordinary General Meeting. Not less than 21 clear days notice of such meetings shall be sent to Club Members. Notice of any proposition which it is intended to move shall be sent to all Club Members entitled to receive notice of the Meeting.
9. Voting & Quorum.
9.1. At all General Meetings : i) 40% of voting members form a quorum. ii) Each voting member aged 16 or over shall be entitled to one vote. iii) The Chairman shall, if required, be entitled to cast an additional deciding vote. iv) Proxy votes will not be allowed. 9.2. In the case of emergency, three officers of the Club shall, together, have powers to act.
10. Equipment.
10.1. The use of crossbows is forbidden.3.1.
