MAIDENHEAD Archers held their annual general meeting recently when awards were presented to James Gatehouse (Club Champion), Simon Gilby (Handicap Cup), Steve Atkinson (Ormonde Challenge Cup), Dave Redding (GNAS Handicap Medal), Anthony Oliver (Chairman’s Trophy) and Mike Popplestone (Best Novice Trophy). |

For several centuries from the reign of William the Conqueror, England’s principal weapon of national defence was the bow.
The crossbow and later the longbow were the main weapons used against massed cavalry and in the battles of Crecy and Agincourt, in the 14th century, English longbows defeated armoured knights.
A royal decree of 1363 ordered all Englishmen to practice archery on Sundays and Holidays and now clubs up and down the country, including Maidenhead Archers, are continuing the tradition. |

After many months of hard slog, here is the new web site.
It's based upon Mambo, which is an open source "Content Management System"
Within time, I hope to drastically improve it's look and feel.
Any help, artwork, designs, code or other suggestions will be greatfully received! |
