 MAIDENHEAD Archers held their annual general meeting recently when awards were presented to James Gatehouse (Club Champion), Simon Gilby (Handicap Cup), Steve Atkinson (Ormonde Challenge Cup), Dave Redding (GNAS Handicap Medal), Anthony Oliver (Chairman’s Trophy) and Mike Popplestone (Best Novice Trophy).
Maidenhead Archers meet at Braywick Sports field on Sunday afternoons as well as Wednesday evenings during the summer.
During the winter months, members meet indoors at a sports hall on Friday evenings with archers competing in a monthly postal league, as well as competing in a monthly outdoor “Frostbite” competition on Sundays.
Some members attend competitions away from home throughout the year, returning with medals while during the summer club members work towards earning and improving their national proficiency classifications.
