Maidenhead Archers promote and practice Archery as a leisure and competitive sport. We welcome experienced archers to the Club and offer support and encouragement to beginners and novices.
Where we shoot.
We shoot at the Braywick Sports Ground in Maidenhead (on the A308, just south of the train station), Berkshire. (map)
Spring & summer time: On Wednesday evenings starting at 6:00 pm and Sunday afternoons at 1.00 pm.
Autumn & winter time: On Sunday afternoons at 1.00 pm.
From October to March we also shoot indoors on Friday evenings, together with other local clubs, at the Windsor Leisure Centre. Start time 8.00 pm.
Competitions.
As a Club we encourage members to attend open shoots with local clubs as and when they occur, whilst the Club Championship shoot is held in September.
Each year the club enters the winter postal leagues for an indoor Portsmouth round and an outdoor frostbite round. The Portsmouth is shot on the second Friday of the month, and the Frostbite shot on the second Sunday of the month, both from November to March.
Have-A-Go.
Each year we run two Have-A-Go sessions on the Sunday before the Bank Holiday in May and August, full details are advertised in the local Press nearer the date as well as the Have-A-Go page.
Beginners' Course.
During the year, the Club runs two beginners' courses, the first held in May on Wednesday evening and the other is held late October/early November on Sunday mornings.
The course runs for six weeks and costs £60.00 (subject to change). Should a junior wish to participate on a course, the Club requires that a parent or guardian accompany all juniors at all times.
